Architectural Digest
Behind the Design – Albee House Remodel Documentary
Short documentary film, architectural cinematography, process footage, and atmospheric interior/exterior shots
Full-scale production. Architectural Digest brought us on to document the meticulous remodel of the historic Albee House — a 1912 Portland mansion originally built for Mayor Russell Albee. The project involved a thoughtful, multi-year renovation that balanced preservation with modern updates.
We captured the full story: the design philosophy, major structural changes, custom artistic details, and the final transformation of this landmark home.
Tell the story of a complex, high-end historic remodel in a cinematic and respectful way. Showcase major interventions (like completely reconfiguring the kitchen and bathrooms) alongside sensitive preservation work, while highlighting the collaboration with Portland mural artists Lonesome Pictopia — who added brass leaf, painted panels, ornate ceilings, and whimsical animal motifs throughout the home.

A standout piece in Architectural Digest’s Behind the Design series that effectively captures the care, craftsmanship, and creativity that went into reviving this historic Portland mansion. The film resonates with architecture and design enthusiasts while showcasing the successful balance of history and modern living.
This project highlights our ability to deliver thoughtful, long-form documentary work alongside our efficient Ship & Shoot model.
